I graduated from the University of Bath in 2011 with a BEng (Hons) in Computing, Electronics and Communications. During my degree I did a full year placement as a software test engineer for Novatel Wireless in Basingstoke.
After graduating I worked in Bristol for Solagen making/designing solar powered road signs, doing PCB design, fault finding and repairing and compliance for our products.
After moving back home to Cornwall in 2015, I started running a Code Club at Stithians school, which I was running for 7 years before opening a new club at Lanner school in 2022.
As well as running a weekly Code Club I also help when I can at Redruth Coderdojo, TechJam, TECgirls and TECwoman.
In 2020 I was one of the top 10 finalists of the Element14 Badass Woman Makers and Engineers Contest (worldwide) and since then have been a video content producer for Element14 Presents as a regular presenter on their YouTube channel and community website, creating interesting & engaging projects.
In my free time I play Clarinet in the City of Truro Wind Orchestra and the West Cornwall Concert Band, and enjoy roller skating and ice skating (Latter only when Eden has an ice rink in the winter, or I can come up with a valid reason to travel back to Bristol!)
