Jo Murray is a local Mum from Cornwall who, after sadly losing her husband, found a love for exploring the County with her young children.
She encountered many issues, with high tides, dog restrictions and lack of facilities, which is what led to her development of MyCoast.
MyCoast is an innovative new app that collates all the data about the 60 RNLI lifeguarded beaches around Cornwall into one handy app, making coastal trips stress-free!
What we really love about this app is that there is something to help everyone. Whether you need to know the tide times so you can go for a surf, or whether you have specific access requirements to get onto the beach, or simply you’ve got kids that are always hungry and always need the loo – all the information is collated into one handy app so you spend less time searching the internet, and more time taking in the breath-taking Cornish coastline. It’s about enjoyment, it’s about safety, it’s about preparation and it’s about exploring new places with confidence! We are confident that this app will give people the information they need to make better decisions which will in turn help all aspects of life – it has the potential to reduce the number of avoidable deaths whilst also increasing the number of ice creams sold!
