My interest has always been in English language. I did an English degree, and in my first job I trained as a technical editor for a company designing systems for submarines. Over the years, technical editing and technical writing have intertwined. I’ve always been able to learn basic information about technical products but my roles have focussed on the English language used around the product information.
I was based in Cambridge for many years, and contracted and consulted for many companies as well as working solidly for a couple of them. I now work for Arm and go into the Cambridge office one week a month. Arm designs hardware and software for most chip producers.
