With a background working at the University of Plymouth, driving forward knowledge exchange, impact and placemaking initiatives, my expertise lies in working at the interface between research and industry. Bringing together academia with communities, organisations, and businesses, to exchange ideas and expertise in creative and unique ways. Basically, I love working with diverse groups to help them work together to develop new ideas and projects that create impact.
I love the buzz of organising and facilitating events. Especially ones that are focused on empowering people and community. As a facilitator, I am skilled at injecting energy and lifting the space, while also being genuine and open with everyone. I excel at creating a space where participants feel valued and value one another (and me!).
Over the last 5 years I have organised and delivered five Google Techstars Startup Weekends. I was responsible for supporting over 150 aspiring entrepreneurs with an inspiring, informative, inclusive and practical 3 day event. Bringing people together from across the UK and creating a space for collaboration across different sectors, disciplines and backgrounds. I have also supported, organised and delivered numerous other events and workshops, including a national conference exploring student knowledge exchange.
Being passionate about Plymouth and the Southwest, I want to work on projects that makes our beautiful part of the world a better place to live, work and visit for EVERYONE.
